I do not want to have to switch IDE's. Also, with the introduction of annotation-based aspects, things are already a bit easier when speaking about differnt IDEs.
Co-founder of InfoQ. The AJDT functionality is very impressive, especially the cross-referencing and visualization features. You are doing some really high-quality work over there in Hursley. Keep up the good work. AJDT is impressive nowdays. Congratulations to Matt and his team.

Well I saw the thread, sorry that it doesn't seem to be going well. I wrote a little sample project, maybe you could just take a look and see if the pom looks correct?
The unit tests work through maven install but not through eclipse. I can convert the nature to AspectJ manually, but I'm not sure how to add the aspect libraries.. Adding the path was tricky because if I tried to use External Jar from the dialog window, it complained of a duplicate entry.
I had to add a random jar and then change it to the actual spring-aspects jar in the. I wonder if there was a better way to add the jar than pointing to the full. I see still the plugin errors of course. But at least some progress! For now, unfortunately m2e support for AspectJ simply does not exist, as it seems. Whatever m2e support there used to be, was removed by the maintainers unilaterally.
I found this project and was able to install it in Eclipse , but it does not seem to work for my example project. Maybe you are luckier.
